IEC's PC/104 Adapter, Part #330104, is a member of IEC's Intellect series of general purpose LONWORKS® based nodes. All Intellect series’ nodes can be easily combined into a LONWORKS network with IEC's New ICELAN 2000™ network management, monitoring and control product, based on Peak Components™. The Intellect PC/104 Adapter is ideal for all PC/104 standard applications that require a turnkey LonTalk interface. Our PC/104 Adapter is fully compatible with all LonTalk requirements because it is based on Echelon® Corporation's Microprocessor Interface Program (MIP). To use this adapter, the host processor need not interact with the LonTalk protocol because IEC provides the required host application drivers with its PC/104 Adapter.

Specifications

• LonTalk Interface: The LonTalk interface is provided through the use of Echelon Corporation's MIP, a method that ensures compatibility with the entire LonTalk protocol.
• PC/104 Interface: IEC's PC/104 node provides all the hardware handshaking to the PC/104 system bus. No knowledge of the bus architecture is required to use our PC/104 gateway adapter.
• Buffer RAM: An additional 8K bytes of RAM are provided to ensure data integrity during network traffic burst conditions.
• Driver: The driver is interrupt driven to ensure the greatest possible throughput.
• Power Requirements: 150mA @ 5V DC from the PC/104 bus connector.
• Operating Temperature: 0 to 70 degrees C.
• Connectors: A standard PC/104 bus connector interfaces to the PC/104 stack. Dual RJ-45 connectors and a 4 pin header connector are provided for the LonTalk network interface.
• Service Switch: A momentary contact push-button switch is provided to accommodate installation.
• Clock: 10 MHz
• Communication Media: Echelon Twisted Pair Transceivers are available including:

  • Freeform Topology (FTT)
  • RS-485
• Software: Network drivers available for DOS, QNX and Custom Embedded Open Systems.
